Patricia has a calm, warm and inviting personality and is committed to providing ethical and caring services to enhance the well-being of persons with whom she interacts. She has over 30 years of experience in counselling individuals and families to move toward their personal growth, facilitating groups, working with children and school personnel in specialized programs, and community development. She is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of individuals, families, and communities.
Patricia is a Registered Clinical Counsellor in British Columbia, with a Master of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of Calgary. As part of her continuing education, she completed specialized training in various therapy approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Play Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy. More recently, she completed training in assisting First Responders with the effects of occupational stress injury. Her experience in facilitating mental wellness has been gained in the settings of hospitals, schools, Federal and Provincial Government, not-for-profit organizations, and counselling clinics.
Patricia is experienced in working with issues such as: depression, anxiety, anger, past trauma, grief and loss, child development and parenting, relationship struggles, life transitions, and many others. She is an approved service provider for the First Nations Health Authority, the Crime Victim Assistance Program, and some Employee and Family Assistance Programs.
She engages with children, youth, adults, couples, and families in her counselling work. Her services address the whole person’s strengths and needs; mind, body, and spirit. She has been self-employed as a counsellor and consultant in the Okanagan for 25 years.
